a shirt tale
May 1, 2009

I don’t like to iron clothes. It’s one of the things that I don’t do. Ever. Lucky for me, in our house, my husband do the ironing. Yesterday, my luck has run out – my husband is in the office, my oldest son’s school play starts in two hours and his white shirt is as crinkly as the leaves of any of my Japanese Maple. Of course I have to iron his shirt. It took me almost an hour to do it. Every time I thought I was done, I turned the shirt and the other side was crinkly. It drove me crazy. That’s when I realized that the ironing board’s shape is designed to make ironing easier. I should have googled “how to iron a shirt”. Or better yet, asked my husband to do it last night. Oh, well. I still don’t like to iron clothes. But I might do it again – on next year’s school play.
